2008 Chapter Programs

When:           January 8, 2008
Where:  North Broadway United Methodist Church
(48 East North Broadway - please come in through the main door and check with
the gentlemen at the top of the ramp to see what room we'll be in.)

Time:           7:00 pm
Presenter(s)  Jeanne Marlowe
Topic:          Type Development - continuation of Jeanne Marlowe's December program

Jeanne will tell how Type has shaped her life story and offer tips for
handling the predictable pitfalls each type experiences at each stage of
development. Her type chart (http://www.personalitypathways.com/marlowe/typechart.html)
gives an easy overview of type differences and tensions. Bring your
questions about type development and paradoxes.

You may also bring scores--either your own or another's--to evaluate Lenore Thomson's hypotheses. The scores must be from the Thomson-Maidenbaum Personality Inventory available free online at http://greenlightwiki.com/lenore/inventory.html (also available in Lenore Thomson's Personality Type: An Owner's Manual). Her hypotheses will not work with MBTI scores, but they complement the MBTI and are especially helpful for those in transition and those unsure of their type.

Jeanne has worked with Lenore the past 8 years, bringing her to Columbus for an Archetypes workshop in 2002 and as a panelist for the 2003 Great Lakes Regional Conference. The Spring 2004 Bulletin of Psychological Type published her article explicating John Beebe’s theory in neurological terms (available online at www.GreatLakesAPT.org/articles.shtml). Jeanne's 2007 interview of Lenore is also available at www.GreatLakesAPT.org/articles.shtml.

Topic:          New Approaches for Presenting Type

Take the free online Thomson-Maidenbaum Personality Inventory at http://greenlightwiki.com/lenore/inventory.html (also available in Lenore Thomson's Personality Type: An Owner's Manual). Let's explore what our scores can tell us. Do they tend to even out as we age? Can they help us present the J-P dichotomy more accurately than files and piles? Show the importance of the dominant function?

Jeanne Marlowe has been using this free Inventory in introductory workshops for 5 years. Her article, "Presenting Type Dynamically" is available in the Journal of Psychological Type, Vol. 47, 1998; see http://www.PersonalityPathways.com/marlowe for a revised version.
